Free poker tournaments are daily competitions that occur on a lot of the greatest online poker sites. Freerolls are greatly loved by the poker playing community as they provide the poker enthusiasts the hopes to win some bona fide $$$$$ without losing any. The entry to these freerolls is – like their titles suggests – free of charge and prize money can range from a couple of bucks for placing to a few hundred dollars for winning the huge freeroll hold’em poker tournaments.
So why do the poker web sites have free tournaments? Is it as a result of their incredibly generous nature and the fact that they earn massive sums of cash so they feel a moral accountability to provide a bit of it back?
What do you believe!
No certainly it is not, the reason that the great poker sites offer freerolls is to draw people to their poker room.
Here’s the theory boiled down – You hear that a site has an excellent freeroll, it charges you nothing to enter and you are able to come away with $100. You think "excellent!" and you head over to the poker site and get registered as a member so that you can participate in the freeroll. You can compete in and get knocked out quickly and are ticked off largely because you feel you should have faired better, or you get near the end and so you’re seeking even more play. So what happens? You wager some money at the poker room and play another poker game!
Always investigate the freerolls for payout requirements, you’ll almost always need to compete in a few hands for real money before they permit you take the $$$$ out. Generally this is on a 1=1 basis, so if you capture $20 at the no cost poker tournament you’ll have to have played for $20 in actual cash in order for you to be able to extract the $$$$$.
