Ah, the poker steam. If a poker gambler claims at no time to have peered down the shadow of an upcoming poker tilt – they’re either lying or they haven’t been wagering very long. This does not infer of course that every player has been on steam in the past, a handful of people have excellent willpower and carry their losses as a defeat and leave it at that. To be a great poker player, it is extremely crucial to treat your wins and your losses in a similar manner – with little emotion. You compete in the game the same way you did after taking a tough loss like you would after winning a great hand. All poker pros are not attracted by tilting after a bad defeat as they are very seasoned and you really should be to.

You have to understand that you can not win each and every hand you are in, even if you are the strongest player. Hands that typically cause players to go on tilt are hands you were the leading choice or at a minimum thought you were up until you were rivered and you lost a gigantic portion of your stack. Bad beats are bound to happen. Face that certainty right now, I will say it again – if your siblings enjoy cards, if your father plays cards, if your grandpa plays cards – They have all had bad defeats at some point. It is an inevitable outcome of participating in Hold’em, or for that matter any kind of poker.

Since we are assumingly (most of us) in the game for a single purpose – to earn $$$$, it certainly makes sense that we will wager accordingly to maximize our profit potential. Now let us say you are up $100 off of a $100 deposit, and you take a gigantic blow in a NL game and your stack is down to one hundred and twenty dollars. You have lost eighty dollars in a round where you were certain to pick up $200two hundred dollars when you went all-in on the flop and held a ten to one edge. And that amateur! He sucked you out on the river? – Well hold it right here. This is a classic choice for a new gambler to start tilting. They basically blew too much money on one round that they should have won and they’re pissed
