Gaming chips have been manufactured from a varied selection of materials in an almost infinite variety of styles since the advent of betting and the need to keep track of winnings. The most common components used today in the manufacture of new poker chips are plastic, clay composite, and acrylic composite. Clay chips, the original of the bunch, have been manufactured in America since the late 1800s.
Back in the 19th century, poker enthusiasts appear to be using any tiny valuable item imaginable. Early poker enthusiasts at times used jagged gold pieces as well as chips – mainly made of wood and clay. By the 1900s, poker chip designs began to enjoy a bigger prominence, and the smooth sides of older chips were given up to chips with slits to keep them neatly arranged together.
There is no debate that poker has gotten bigger steadily in popularity since its beginnings in the 1800s. With the huge advancement of net gaming and unique television shows, community interest in poker has feed the fire more rapidly than ever before. Most folks are initially introduced to poker by TV showssuch as "Celebrity Poker" or the Travel Channel’s "World Poker Tour," and most will bet on their 1st hands online. Regardless of net poker’s rise, nothing replaces the feeling of holding weighty clay poker chips in your hand, throwing chips into the middle of a poker table, or stacking tall pilesstacks of chips after displaying a winning hand.
