Double-hand Poker is a current game with old ancestry. Based on the old Chinese domino game and the modern American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the east with the west in an awesome game for starting players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the player vs. the croupier, not like most other poker games that gamblers compete with other players. By playing against the dealer, starting players don’t need to be concerned about other, more advanced people winning their money.
A further Pai Gow benefit is the fairly leisurely game pace, beginners are able to take their time and plan without having to make quick choices.
It is also easier to play for an extended time with basically a little bit of money after all, to not win, both of your hands needs to be under each of the houses hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is assigned seven cards faces showing and the casino is dealt seven cards face down.
A five card hand and a 2 card hand must be put together from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be better than the two card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be higher than the dealer’s.
