Online poker has become globally acclaimed lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to 21 than traditional poker, in that the gamblers bet against the bank instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no bluffing or different kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the dealer broadcasting "No further bets." At that point, both you and the house and of course all of the other gamblers receive 5 cards each. After you have looked at your hand and the bank’s initial card, you need to either make a call bet or surrender. The call wager’s value is on same level to your beginning bet, which means that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes directly to the house. After the wager is the conclusion. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, with a figure on par with the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The house pony’s up money even with your original bet and controlled odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
