Beyond a doubt millions and millions of people are trying to be the next "huge thing" in poker, but here is a short rundown on 4 of the more well known "great guys" of the game. Despite the fact that "nice" is connected with their names when you are at a poker table it’s "no more Mr. Nice guy" up until they have removed you out of the competition!
Daniel Negreanu
In 2004, his competition winnings added up to in excess of four and a half million dollars and he attained two highly respected awards in the WSOP Player of the Year and Cardplayer Magazine’s Tournament Player of the Year. In Feb 2006 he was named Card Player’s Preferred Poker Player. Daniel still has the decency to talk with his admirers about how they will be able to improve their own game.
Howard Lederer
Known as "The Professor" and brother of fellow poker professional Annie Duke. His accomplishments have lead to him making an instructional video named "Secrets of No Limit Hold’em" and also holding a tournament poker show for Fox. As of 2005, his total life earnings surpass $2.7 million.
Scotty Nguyen
Scotty is one of the busiest players in poker and between Two Thousand to 2004 he ranked in the money in more than one hundred events. He’s noted for saying "yeah baby" throughout poker matches and also credited with the term "that’s poker baby" when alluding to a particularly bad defeat. As of Two Thousand and Six, his career earnings are just about $6 million.
Chris Ferguson
Chris has won 5 WSOP titles with 2 of his successes happening in Two Thousand and Three. Has the nickname "Jesus" as a result of his characteristic long hair and beard, along with his ability to throw cards quick enough to slice through pickles and bananas. As of 2005 his total live poker tourney earnings exceeded 5 million dollars.
