Web poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its television scores. Over the years numerous variations on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling twenty-one than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the bank instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little bluffing or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the dealer announcing "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the house and of course all of the other players receive five cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s first card, you have to in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call wager’s value is on same level to your beginning wager, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your ante goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the wager is the showdown. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, with a sum on par with the initial bet. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand defeats the bank’s hand. The casino pony’s up chips even with your ante and controlled odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
